LiDAR scan to DXF and IFC for AutoCAD and Revit

Start your drawings from measured existing conditions instead of a sketch and a tape. Scanivo turns an iPhone Pro LiDAR scan into a DXF for AutoCAD and an IFC model for Revit, both from the same capture.

DXF for AutoCAD

The DXF is drawn at 1:1 scale in inches, so it drops into an existing drawing without rescaling. Each kind of element is on its own named layer:

A-WALL
Walls
A-DOOR
Doors
A-GLAZ
Windows
A-OPNG
Openings without a door
A-DIMS
Dimensions
A-AREA
Room outlines and areas
A-ANNO
Room names and notes
A-FURN
Furniture and fixtures the scan detected

Open it in AutoCAD or any program that reads DXF. In Revit you can link the DXF as an underlay and model over it.

IFC for Revit and BIM

The IFC file (IFC4) carries the building elements, not just lines: walls, doors, windows and rooms. Import it into Revit or open it in any IFC viewer to start a model from the surveyed space.

PDF and 3D from the same scan

The same capture also gives you dimensioned PDF sheets with door and window schedules for clients and crews, and a 3D model as USDZ (AR on iPhone), GLB and OBJ.

Feet and inches throughout

Plans, schedules and measurements use US units. The DXF is in inches, so dimensions read the same in your CAD program as on the PDF.

Who uses the files

  • Architects and interior designers who need existing conditions in DXF or IFC.
  • Contractors and estimators who pull room areas and wall lengths for takeoffs and quotes.
  • AV and smart home installers planning a room: see home theater and smart home site surveys.
